All the way from Ethiopia, this month's coffee is roasted by Rich Coffee Roasters, a roasting company based in Wellington New Zealand.
Rich Coffee was founded by Cameron McClure and Richie Russell with many years of local and international experience in the specialty coffee industry.
This month Fernweh's coffee subscription brings you beans from the village of Beriti, situated 22kms from the central town of Gedeb in the Yirgacheffe region in Ethiopia. Sitting at an elevation between 2200 - 2300 masl, with good rainfall and fertile red clay soil, these conditions are ideal fro producing the fantastic washed coffees this region is renowned for.
This coffee consists of mixed Heirloom Yirgacheffe varietals produced by local smallholders. When roasted to a light medium profile it exhibits wonderful character in the cup.
Flavours: apricot, nectarine and bright acidity.
